How the SEN team, class teachers and parents work together

  • We work  and plan with  parents and sometimes outside experts to implement a Continuum of Support for pupils

  • We put in place Classroom and Student Support Files for pupils who need support

  • We withdraw pupils in small groups or individually for supplementary teaching on the basis of Priority of Need, that is those pupils with the greatest level of need will receive the greatest level of support

  • We support teachers and pupils within the classroom for Literacy and Maths

  • We implement class-based programmes to improve Maths, Social Skills and Literacy

  • Daily movement classes cater for pupils’ motor skill needs

  • We arrange for pupils to get together in small social groups to discuss issues, to build confidence and to express their opinions in a safe and friendly environment

Programmes we roll out for classes and groups

Our Resources

Resource Rooms are well equipped with materials to support the needs of our pupils. We are lucky to have a Sensory room known as the “Kid Cave” which all pupils love to visit.
Working trips to our fabulous award-winning garden are greatly enjoyed. Cookery classes are held in small groups and the pupils love this activity!
However, the most important resource is our Team of Teachers who care about our pupils and work hard to build strong relationships with parents whose participation is essential to the progress of the child.
