Science Week - Ms. Tuttle's 3rd Class
Science week took place last week, 9-13 Nov 2020. 3rd class decided to take part by conducting an experiment called ‘Racing liquids’ It was great fun! We formed groups of 3 or 4 and each group was a assigned a liquid. (water, oil, honey, ketchup and maple syrup) We began with water. We poured one tablespoon of water down a slope and Ms Tuttle used a timer to see how long it took. We repeated this with each of the other liquids and recorded the results on the board. We found that ketchup took longest to travel as thicker liquids have more internal friction which slows down their movement. Interesting!
