Shared Reading

Shared reading has many benefits. It helps students work together, encourages co-operation and promotes peer assisted learning. It helps children expand their vocabulary, allows them to read fluently with expression and confidence. It promotes pleasure and enjoyment with texts and it gives an opportunity for the reader to demonstrate decoding and comprehension strategies. In SCM shared & paired reading is an integral part of learning. Here are some photos of our older students reading with our younger pupils.
